dip-runk...hmmmmm

If you saw fake blood at park life you surely would have seen this. Diplo and 8 bit were causing the biggest rukkus on stage. Diplo is basically the raddest dude getting round. When he's not producing the most talented people of this time, He climbs scaffholding while drinking a bottle of hard liqueur which he threw into the crowd. Then went on to harrasses the shiz nitz out of crew playing ie. fake blood untill it seemed some one took him away. Gold!!!! P.s Fake Blood was amazing!!!!

Techno

Just found an old techno set i did from 2002 live @ Kaos at the Wool Exchange in Geelong. I wish we documented those nights somewhat more.... There were about 500 strong making it to the nights which ran every second weekend. Acts like Eric Powlle, Mike Callander, Machina, Most the Teriyaki crew, Steve Douglas and many more made it down.

Ill attempt to get the set on to digital format which also has a live set from Mike Callander on the flip side (2002). Here is some techno stuff for ya in the mean time. The word gets thrown around these days a little to easy!!! This is techno!!!!

Midlake Roscoe

Im Loving this track at the moment even though its 2 years old.

Roscoe hails after the halcyon days in teh 1800s, It gives an eerie enchanted feeling of being alone in a hunted forest but everything is fine knowing the mountaineers are always there. Who these people are, fuck knows but they can fix your house hang out your dog and be on there way to help the next danzel in destress. I like them... Im sure they are 10 feet tall legs like tree trunks, forest warriors.

There is also 2 other versions, an instrumental containting piano, acoustic guitar, some synth samples and the vocals. The vocals are slightly different in the acoustic version. The original seems to have a double tracking effect through out the whole track. The other is a remix by a group under the name of "beyond the Wizards Sleeve" better known as Erol Alkan and Richard Norris. Erol is a well known techno producer/DJ and Norris is best known as a member of The Grid. This remix is amazing; they bring a lot of the elements to life giving them their own space with in the mix but keeping the original fundamentals of the track, also some FX have been placed over them to color and brighten these elements.

Old Versus New

The Old Blunt Ramp..... Longer and a little smaller, still got plenty of boost and the long coping made for sweet long F.S 5/0's..

New One is mental, so much boost!!! Slightly shorter but makes up for it in hight. Bigger tricks, bigger stacks. Broken finger on the opening night...

Death Magnetic

This would have to be one of Metallica's finest records. Ive been losing it since i got it last saturday. This record is bull shit, its been described as "And Justice For All"with bass. Its fast and really energetic for a couple of semi old dudes slaying the axe. Speaking of slaying, its alot like slayer, realy fast riffs with powerfull solo's but thats not surprising as its been produced by the same guy who did slayer albums "seasons of the abbyss", "decade of aggression" , "devine intervention" and many more, Rick Rubin. Rubins work dates back to Run DMC, Public Enemy, Johnny Cash, the cult and was the original Dj for the Beastie Boys. If you like the old Metallica sound, do your self a favour and buy this record.

Just Heard the Guitar Hero version. Its Clear the original album has been pushed to far (in terms of amplitude). There's a lot of digital distortion but the music is still clear and understandable. To the idiot who just msg'd JJJ about it and said I hated the original album but that one is alright (talking about the guitar hero version). Its the same recorded music you fucking douche Fag. Its been mixed and most likely been mastered by different engineers. If you cant see through that you dont deserve the album cause it rates highly even if it were produced by you!!!

WHY NOT....This track sucks!!

Kicking things off, basically this blogs going to be a random mess of music and crazyness. Posted tunes from any genre. Skateboarding dam overflow trapments and sweaty urban garages. Surfing down south at exposed so called secrete spots, Breaking bones at hotham to cool gigs that happen in melbourne and and the surfcoast.

Why Not

ft Koshowko and Mu-gen happend on saturday it was appartently that it was to close to parklife. With about 70 people rocking up it was still an excellent night even though it lost quite some cash. So all that said were going but didnt...you suck!!! and to the person at the afterparty who told me "this track fucking sucks", talking about D.i.m's remix of floating by jape (which rocks) FUCK YOU, YOU SUCK!!!

The Night started to a late line up change with Patch Adams, playing perfect warm up tunes. The "dreamy downtempo disco" was the perfect start to the night. Patch will be playing this spot at the next up and coming why not gigs. Adsphoe followed patch playing a fairly up-tempo crunkafied fidget set. Even though it was 9:30 he had most the room movin. After Adsphoe the 3 piece electro-dub group of koshowko was on. A big thank you to them for making it down after previous gigs being cancelled. Then the Fish tore the joint a new ahole. i did a little cameo in between 1fishtwofish and mu gen. Mu Gen pulled out all the stops, playing everything a 100 year old music historian with the album "the best of music" would know.

all in all the night was sick...look out for the next one being planned at the moment. its feeling goulish.
